One weekend, two world records!
26th May 2010

In Saturday’s fourth and final qualifying round, Taylor ran 3.63 to officially back up his Friday-night pass within one percent to make it the new ADRL class elapsed time record, but just two pairs later, Johnston returned with a 3.70 pass at 211.03 mph in Gerald Haning’s ‘53 Corvette (above) to officially secure a new Pro Extreme speed record.

Both runs are the result of this year’s new collaboration between Paul Taylor, crew chief on both cars, and Billy Stocklin, team manager on Taylor’s ‘05 Corvette.

“He provides the horsepower and I manage the horsepower,” Stocklin said.
